PMO Analyst
We are partnering with a City Council based in Melbourne's northern suburbs to recruit a PMO Analyst supporting its four-year transformation program.
The program is at an early stage, with an ambitious agenda to modernise legacy systems, simplify processes and improve how Council serves its community. Microsoft Dynamics 365 forms part of the journey, alongside changes to people, processes and ways of working.
Reporting to the ePMO Manager, you will help establish the Transformation Management Office and progressively take ownership of its day-to-day operation.
This is a fixed-term contract with a tenure of 4 years. They have a hybrid working model, with 3 days in the office (with Mondays being an anchor day).
The opportunity
This role offers broad responsibility and the chance to make a visible contribution. You will build relationships across the transformation team, understand what is happening across projects and give program leaders reliable information to support decisions.
Delivery practices are still developing, so you will need to be comfortable working through ambiguity and introducing structure as you go. There is plenty of enthusiasm and willingness to improve, creating an opportunity for someone who understands good governance and can make it work in practice.
Your primary focus will be the TMO, with opportunities to support broader ePMO activities as capacity allows.
What you'll be doing
- Coordinating program reporting, dashboards and governance papers, turning project updates into clear insights.
- Maintaining risk, issue, action, decision and benefits registers, with timely follow-up and escalation.
- Tracking milestones, schedules and dependencies to identify emerging delivery challenges.
- Working with project managers to improve reporting quality and establish consistent delivery practices.
- Keeping governance forums running smoothly through coordinated agendas, papers, actions and calendars.
- Building strong relationships so you can anticipate issues and help the team respond.
- Developing practical processes, templates and controls that support delivery as the TMO matures.
What you'll bring
You may be an experienced PMO or TMO Analyst or a project or program support professional ready for broader ownership. You will bring experience in governance, reporting and coordination, together with the confidence to ask questions and follow things through.
We’re particularly interested in your ability to:
- Create structure where processes are evolving or unclear.
- Apply project management practices pragmatically.
- Analyse information, spot inconsistencies and explain what matters.
- Build trust and constructively challenge stakeholders.
- Balance reporting discipline with a helpful, service-focused approach.
- Take initiative and get involved wherever the team needs support.
Experience in an environment with developing project delivery capability would translate well. Above all, you will enjoy solving problems, working collaboratively and taking responsibility for outcomes.
Why join?
You will join an engaged transformation team with a practical, collaborative approach. The role offers variety, hands-on learning and autonomy, with the support of the ePMO Manager as you build ownership of the TMO. If you enjoy turning ambiguity into workable processes and helping a team deliver, there is plenty of scope to make this role your own.
